Parish Council Responsibilities

The Parish Council is responsible for the following areas in the village:

  • Allotments
  • Baskets and Planters
  • Beacon
  • 2 car parks
  • Community Library
  • Defibrillators x3
  • Events: Armed Forces Flag Raising, Remembrance Service (in conjunction with the local churches), Beacon lighting, Christmas Tree Illumination.
  • Grants
  • Play equipment and maintenance of Shiregate, Prince's Street Play Parks
  • Grass cutting
  • Multi Goal End, Skate Parks and Youth/Meeting Shelters
  • Public Toilets - Fen Road
  • Street Furniture (including benches, bus shelter, notice boards, litter bins/dog bins, finger post information signs
  • 200 Street lights
  • War Memorial and garden

The Parish Council have four notice boards in the village located at:

  • Prince's Street Car Park - This is for official Council notices and a limited number of community notices.
  • Caroline Road Shops - This is for official Council notices and a limited number of community notices.
  • Shiregate Park - This is for official Council notices and a limited number of community notices.
  • Post Office, High Street - this is for voluntary community use.

We do not accept business notices.
