Springwell Solar farm
In the last update I reported that an application was going to be made for a judicial review. At the time of writing the application has gone to a judge to decide whether there are grounds for a review. Hopefully, approval for the review to go ahead will be given.
More projects for Highways volunteers
Recently I visited the volunteers working on restoring fencing around Dunston playpark. As I have reported before we have been fortunate to have projects completed across the area. At the end of June, I will be visiting another project at Walcott Village Hall where the volunteers will be laying paving slabs to create a patio area outside the hall. The request came to me from the Village Hall Committee who are keen to continue improvements to the facility. Calling in recently I could see how the hall is increasingly becoming a hub for more community activities. It’s great to see these developments in villages across the area I represent.
A15/B1202 junction
As previously reported traffic light are being planned for this junction which has seen a number of serious accidents. I have been in discussions with the Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership about proposals for further road safety measures along the A15. Watch this space for future updates as plans develop.
Update on proposed county council changes to services.
Following a public outcry by carers and their families about the reduction in respite care facilities the council leadership have been forced to halt plans and hold another consultation . As mentioned previously there are a number of services providing support for vulnerable people which are under threat of being cut. However, money has been spent on other things such as a sponsorship of the Lincolnshire Show to the tune of £67,000, the redecoration the Council Leaders Office and of course making larger parking spaces for the senior councillors’ cars.
