What can you do about it?
If you see an incident of a dog owner not picking up their dog faeces and walking away, make a note of as many details as possible. The person's description, (identity and address if known), description of the dog, time of incident and location. Then report it to the District Council on 01529 414155 and ask for the Environmental Protection Team. All informaiton is dealt with in the strictest of confidence and personal details will not be released to the offender. We will contact you to discuss your complaint and will keep you informed of what action we intend to take.
What are the penalties?
If you commit and offence under section 3 Dogs (foundling of land) Act 1996, you may receive a £50 fixed penalty notice of be fined in court up to £1,000. Clean up ater your dog, don't fall foul of the law.
