This is the Crest of St Wilfrid and it is believed that the seven triangles represent the seven hills of Rome

The three creatures

These are all from the three crests of the families who had much to do with the development of Metheringham – Skipwith, Chaplin and Londesborough.

The Greyhound is from the Skipwith Crest.
The Stag is from the Chaplin Crest.
The Horse is from the Londesborough Crest.
