General Purposes Committee Minutes 22nd July 2021
Minutes GPC01/2021 of the General Purposes Committee Meeting held on Thursday 22nd July 2021 at 18:30.
Present: Councillors D Holmes, I Holmes and K Parker.
Apologies: Councillor K Rymer and V Zambas
Officer: K Steels-Tallett (Parish Clerk)
No members of the public were present.
1. To elect a Chairman of the General Purposes Committee. It was resolved Councillor Parker be the Chairman of the Committee. Proposed by Councillor I Holmes, seconded by Councillor D Holmes and all were in favour.
2. To resolve to accept Apologies for Absence and reasons given in accordance with Local Government Act 1972 S85(1). Apologies had been received from Councillors Rymer and Zambas. It was resolved to accept the apologies, proposed by Councillor I Holmes, seconded by Councillor K Parker and all were in favour.
3. Members Declarations of Interests:
a. Members may make any declarations of interest at this point but may also make them at any point during the meeting in accordance with Metheringham Parish Councils Code of Conduct. There were no declarations of interest.
b. Dispensations: To consider and grant dispensation to relevant members in accordance with Metheringham Parish Councils Code of Conduct. No request for dispensations had been received.
4. Terms of Reference: To consider the General Purposes Terms of Reference and make recommendation to full Council for a suggested amendment. It was resolved to make a suggested amendment to the Terms of Reference for presentation at the Parish council meeting Tuesday 27th July 2021. Proposed by Councillor I Holmes, seconded by Councillor Parker and all were in favour.
5. Policies and Procedures: To consider and resolve the review and update of Councils Policies and Procedures and formulate a timescale. It was resolved that Policies and Procedures would be reviewed no later than November 2021. Proposed by I Holmes, seconded by D Holmes and all were in favour.
