General Purposes Committee Minutes 5th August 2021
Minutes GPC02/2021 of the General Purposes Committee Meeting held on
Thursday 05th August 2021 at 18:30.
Present: Councillors D Holmes, I Holmes and K Parker.
Apologies: Councillor K Rymer and V Zambas
Officer: K Steels-Tallett (Parish Clerk)
No members of the public were present.
1. To resolve to accept Apologies for Absence and reasons given in accordance with Local Government Act 1972 S85(1). Apologies had been received from Councillors Rymer and Zambas. It was resolved to accept the apologies, proposed by Councillor I Holmes, seconded by Councillor Parker and all were in favour.
2. Members Declarations of Interests:
a. Members may make any declarations of interest at this point but may also make them at any point during the meeting in accordance with Metheringham Parish Councils Code of Conduct. There were no declarations of interest.
b. Dispensations: To consider and grant dispensation to relevant members in accordance with Metheringham Parish Councils Code of Conduct. There were no requests for dispensations.
3. To approve as a correct record, the minutes of the meeting held on 22nd July 2021. The notes of the meeting 22nd July 2021 having been circulated prior to the meeting were taken as read and it was resolved to approve them as minutes of the meeting. Proposed by Councillor Parker, seconded by Councillor I Holmes and all were in favour.
4. Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Terms of Reference: To consider and prepare a draft Terms of reference for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations Committee; for presentation to full Council. It was resolved to circulate the amended draft to members of the committee and then to full Council for adoption. Proposed by Councillor I Holmes, seconded by Councillor D Holmes and all were in favour.
5. Committee Structure: To consider the structure of future Committees; to make the decision process more streamlined and efficient, and make recommendations to full Council. It was resolved to defer the agenda item to a later meeting, a date to be agreed. Proposed by Councillor I Holmes, seconded by Councillor D Holmes and all were in favour.
6. Date of next meeting. To be arranged
